QUICK ANSWERS

Find the next step.

Short answers below point to the full workflow when you need more detail.

Time, breaks & approvals

How do I fix a missing clock-out?

Check your time history first. If company settings allow a direct edit, correct the entry there. Otherwise use the correction-request workflow when available, or ask your manager. A submitted correction still needs the required review.

Correction requests and review guide →
Why do break totals affect my hours?

Company break rules determine how recorded breaks affect paid time. Check whether the break is paid or unpaid and whether it is still open. Managers should review the break policy and the entry before changing totals.

Is submitting a period the same as approval?

No. Submitting a timesheet period sends it for review. Approval and locking are separate steps in the workflow. Resolve outstanding entries and corrections before treating the period as final.

Where do overtime totals come from?

Overtime uses the company policy and eligible recorded time. Managers should check the configured rules, workweek and source entries when a total is unexpected. A schedule alone is not worked time.

Leave, schedules & work details

How should I start using PTO?

Managers configure leave settings and types, then review employee balances. Employees can request leave when enabled. Check the request status and available balance; a pending request is not an approved absence.

Does a scheduled shift clock someone in?

No. Schedules describe planned work. Employees still record actual time. Managers create and publish schedules; employees should check the published schedule and any changes.

Why is a work site or location required?

Your company controls work-site and location requirements. Choose the appropriate site and allow location access when required. If location cannot be verified, contact your manager to review the setup.

When should I use clients and contracts?

Use these details to organize recorded work by customer or job. Managers add the relevant records and decide which fields employees see or must complete.

Payroll, reports & integrations

Why is the Payroll page missing?

An authorized manager can enable TakeUrTime payroll preparation under Company Settings. This setting controls the internal Payroll workspace; provider connections are managed separately under Integrations.

Payroll preparation and export guide →
What should I check before preparing payroll?

Resolve open shifts and corrections, review approval status, and check breaks, overtime, rates and included leave. TakeUrTime prepares gross-pay estimates and exports; taxes, deductions, net pay and employee payments remain with your accountant or provider.

Payroll preparation and export guide →
Why do two exports show different totals?

Compare the date range, employees, approval filter and included earning categories. Check whether you are viewing a live report or a saved payroll run. Confirm the same inputs before comparing totals.

Does connecting a provider finish the setup?

A connection is only the start. Review the provider-specific setup, employee mappings and supported operations, then review delivery results. Availability varies by provider and region. Integrations are available on every TakeUrTime plan.

Account & access questions

Do I need to create a company to join my employer?

No. Ask your manager for an employee account. The registration page creates a new company workspace.

Why can't I edit or add an entry?

Your company's settings control manual entries and editing. Approved entries can have additional restrictions. Ask your manager to review the entry or company policy.

How do I recover my account?

Use password recovery with your account email. A reset does not restore restricted company access. See the account, permissions and troubleshooting guide.

Why is an issue in my inbox but no reminder arrived?

The inbox checks current records. Email and text also depend on company recipients, allowed channels, personal opt-ins and delivery timing. Open the issue to resolve the underlying work, then refresh the inbox.

Reminders, delivery and exception-inbox guide →
How do I change my plan or cancel?

Managers use Plan and billing to review current access, user seats and plan-change previews. An immediate plan change is different from cancellation at the end of the paid period.

Where do I get support?

Use Support inside your workspace or contact us. Include the action you were trying and what happened. Please do not send passwords or payment card details.
